The 3-day Masai Mara safari is best for people who have a short time in Kenya but would like to explore the famous Mara ecosystem. Masai Mara National Reserve is the most famous and visited protected area in Kenya. The reserve together with Serengeti National Park forms a vast ecosystem where the wildebeest migration takes place.  The great wildebeest migration is an annual mass movement that involves over a million wildebeest, about 200,000 zebras, and gazelles from Serengeti to Masai Mara looking for fresh pasture.

The wildebeest River crossings of the Mara River are the most spectacular but deadly for the wildebeest. The Mara River has deadly crocodiles that thrive on the wildebeest and they await them ready to take down their prey. On this 3-day Masai Mara Safari, you will be part of the great wildebeest migration adventures following these and other major wildlife in Masai Mara.

Masai Mara National Reserve is home to four of the big five mammals and major big cats. The major big five mammals here include elephants, lions, buffaloes, and leopards. Lions are abundant here and you will see them in pride or action taking down their prey. Masai Mara offers true African adventures and classic savanna experiences. On the 3 days Masai Mara safari, you will fully explore the reserve on game drives, nature walks, community visits, and balloon safaris depending on your preference.

In case you are particularly interested in the wildebeest migration then it is better to book your safari from June to August. You can however visit Masai Mara anytime of the year as wildlife is abundant and you can always have a great time any time you visit.

Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara National Reserve (5 hrs)

You will be picked up from your Nairobi Hotel early in the morning for a transfer to Masai Mara National reserve. Arrive in Masai Mara in time for lunch and a little rest after which you will go for an afternoon game drive to catch up with the wildebeest migration If its the right season. You will also see major wildlife in the park including lions, elephants, giraffes among others. Enjoy the sunset as you head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Masai Mara National Reserve

On this most anticipated day wake up before dusk to catch up with the early risers especially predators and the beautiful African sunrise. Masai Mara is one of the reserves with the highest animal concentration of wildlife therefore you will have a lot of wildlife viewing opportunities on this day. Enjoy your picnic lunch and later continue with the adventures in the park. In the evening you will be transferred back to your lodge for a rest. Incase you are interested in more adventures; a hot air balloon safari would be a great option to do on this day.

 Day 3: Masai Mara – Nairobi

Have an early breakfast and head out for your final game drive in Masai Mara. Later exit the reserve for a transfer back to Nairobi with en-route stop overs for a lunch break. Arrive in Nairobi in the evening for a drop off at the hotel or airport for departure if on schedule
