Day1. Pickup from Kigali Airport and Transfer to Uganda.
You will be picked up from the booked-up hotel go for a city tour to visit Genocide memorial and Kimironko local market later drive to the border crossing to Uganda. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 2: Golden monkeys trekking Mgahinga Np.
Golden monkeys are rare and unique primate mammals that are found in the volcanoes massif national parks which are shared by three African countries. Such as Mgahinga gorilla national park in south western Uganda, volcanoes national park in Rwanda, Virunga national park and Kahuzi Biega national park in Congo. Golden monkeys live together in harmony with the mountain gorillas in Uganda and Rwanda, these endangered creatures are playful and extremely interesting when travelers meet them. The golden monkeys are found of demarcating their territories and living together in big numbers is common thing about these primate mammals such as groups of about 30 members. They are always feeding on bamboo shoots, fruits in the forest, leaves, shrubs as well as wild insects. Trekking the golden monkeys is easier compared to trekking the mountain gorillas since golden monkeys live in lowland areas and they are known of living evidence behind which can be followed while on a golden monkey trekking in the park although they are found of moving from one place to another.

Day 3: Mountain Gorilla trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi Island.
Have breakfast and proceed to the rangers’ post. You will receive a briefing from a ranger guide on the dos and don’ts during gorilla trekking. Thereafter, you will enter the gorilla sanctuary for your adventure and encounter. The beauty of this rainforest is spectacular! The area offers a steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense, but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. The terrain and the time it take vary according to the movements of these great primates. Once you have located a gorilla group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle but endangered giants is unforgettable. After the trekking you will be transferred to Lake Bunyonyi Island where you shall spend an evening for an evening stay and dinner.

Day4: Canoeing in the morning and transfer to lake Mburo national park.
After your breakfast, go for a canoe trip on the lake whereby you will be able to see various birds, communities, landforms such as the islands. Take as much photographs as you can. After the canoe, have lunch and drive to Lake Mburo national park for an afternoon game drive in search for zebras, impalas, elands, buffalos, oribi, Defassa waterbuck, leopard, hippo, topi and reedbuck. Retire and drive to your booked lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day5: Game Walk safari and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park for an evening game drive.
After your breakfast, go for a canoe trip on the lake whereby you will be able to see various birds, communities, landforms such as the islands. Take as much photographs as you can. After the canoe, have lunch and drive to Lake Mburo national park for an afternoon game drive in search for zebras, impalas, elands, buffalos, oribi, Defassa waterbuck, leopard, hippo, topi and reedbuck. After the walk safari in lake Mburo national park you shall be transferred to queen Elizabeth national park for a night over stay, dinner and over stay.

Day6: Game drive and afternoon boat cruise.
After an early morning warm up tea or coffee, you will head for a game drive along Kasenyi tracks and Queens mile in search of animals like: lions, elephants, cape buffalos, warthogs, spotted hyenas, mangoose, waterbucks, kobs and, if you are lucky, you will spot tree climbing lions. And later in the afternoon you will head out for an afternoon boat cruise after having your lunch.

Day 7: Transfer to Kibale national park for evening Bigodi community.
After breakfast with driver/guide will set off to Western Uganda, to Fort Portal. Traveling on both asphalt and unpaved roads, you pass through traditional Ugandan Villages where you see people at work tending their traditional crops. Keep your eyes open for a variety of birds that perch on the fence rows and power lines along the way. the drive takes 5 to 7 hours so we will arrive in time in Fort Portal for lunch. After lunch we will shake off the drive with a walk to the Bigodi swamp. The Bigodi Swamp is a paradise for bird watchers. Skilled birders can spot up to fifty new species on a bird list. Today, 138 species of bird have been recognized within the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary and among the major bird species within the sanctuary is the grand Blue Turaco. The swamp also harbours several primates’ species like the red colobus monkey, baboon, black & white colobus monkey, blue monkey grey cheeked, mangabey, vervet monkey.

Day 8. Chimp tracking and Community Walk to the swamp
After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing after which you will embark on a chimp tracking excursion. These primates are very mobile and viewing them is unpredictable but a forest walk is an enriching activity that starts at 8.00 am taking about 4 hours. This forest is home to a large number of chimpanzees and other primates including L’hoestes, Red-colobuses, Blues, Red-tailed, grey cheeked mangabeys, birds, and butterflies. Your expert guide will share the secrets of the forest’ flora and fauna, ensuring that the trail is both informative and enjoyable. Though much harder to see, the park is also home to buffalo, leopard, bushpig, elephant and duiker along with 144 species of butterflies.
